1. Is the door new or existing?
2. Are there any holes in the door?
a. How many?
b. What is the diameter of the hole(s)?
c. What is the backset of the hole(s)?
(the backset is the distance from the edge of a door to the center of the hole)
d. What is the center to center measurement between the holes?
3. What is the thickness of the door? If you door is thicker than the sizes below, please call for assistance 866-528-0741
(1-3/8” standard residential interior, 1-3/4” standard residential exterior)
4. What is the width of the door stile?
(the stile is the frame (edge) of the door where the handle is mounted)
5. What is the hand of the door?
(the hand of the door is the direction the door swings, for example; i.e. right hand (RH) left
hand (LH) right hand reverse (RHR) or left hand reverse (LRH)
6. Is there glass in the door or sidelights around the door?
7. Do local fire and building codes allow the use of double cylinder locks?
(A lock which is operated by the use of a key from both exterior and interior)
8. Is the opening a single or double door configuration? (as in French doors)
9. Is this an exterior or interior door?
10. What function is required
a. Locking
b. Passage
c. Privacy
d. Patio
11. What finish do you want?
Polished brass, antique brass, satin brass etc.
12. For multiple locks, do you want them all to open with the same key (keyed alike) or individual keys?
