Create grand entrances with attractive combinations of locking technology, security and style to enhance both curb appeal and convenience. Here are some simple tips to help you select the right hardware for every door.

Deadbolts:
Deadbolts should be used on all exterior entryways such as back doors, side doors, cellar or basement doors and patio doors.
How To Choose

1. Single sided - Patio Function
Is an interior turnpiece with no exterior locking. This is recommended for added security on the inside of the door, and is usually available with an exterior plate prohibiting entry.

2. Single Cylinder
Has exterior keyed locking and an interior turnpiece.

3. Double Cylinder
This style has exterior and interior keyed locking. This style is used when the door is within an arm’s reach of an easily broken window or sidelight.

Handlesets:
There are double cylinder and keyed entry handlesets. For double security, some handlesets feature 2-point locking system. The non-locking or dummy handleset is to be used on the non-functioning side of the double entry door.

1. Single cylinder handleset has exterior keyed locking and an interior turnpiece.

2. Double cylinder handleset has exterior and interior keyed locking. This style is used when the door is within an arm’s reach of an easily broken window or sidelight.

HandingLevers:
Handing for levers is determined by which side the hinges are on when you are facing the outside of the door. Do not concern yourself with the inside of the door, whether the door swings in or out, which side the lever is going to be on, or which hand you are going to use to open the door.

Facing the door from the outside, if the hinge is on the left side of the door, the door is left-handed. If the hinge is on the right side of the door, the door is right-handed.

Latches:

6-Way Latch:
This is when all three latch types and both backsets are shipped. These are universal for every application.

Round Corner Latch
Round Corner Latch:

The latch face plate comes with Radius corners for most residential installations.

Square Corner Latch
Square Corner Latch:

The latch face plate comes with Square corners for residential installations.

Drive In Latch
Drive-In Latch:

The latch does not have a face plate. Push in application for most hollow door applications.
